Identity verification (KYC)
Why Assetera must verify your identity, how the multi-step KYC flow works, and how KYC status gates trading.
Before you can fund a wallet or trade, Assetera has to verify who you are. This is KYC ("Know Your Customer"). As a MiFID-regulated brokerage, we're legally required to establish and check your identity before you can transact. Getting through it once unlocks the rest of the platform.
Why it's required
Regulation obliges a broker to identify its customers and understand the information relevant to the services they use. Until the required onboarding is complete, regulated actions stay locked.
How the flow works
Verification is a multi-step process. The exact steps depend on your customer type, jurisdiction, requested service, and information already available. A typical run:
- You start verification from within the Assetera app.
- You fill in a short applicant form (your details).
- You supply the information or documents requested in the guided flow.
- You complete any additional questions required for the service.
- The result comes back and your KYC status is updated.
The flow can pause and resume. If a step needs something more from you, you'll be prompted, and you can come back to finish.
KYC status is tracked separately
Your KYC status (verified, pending, rejected, and so on) is tracked independently of your login account. Being signed in is not the same as being verified. You can have a perfectly good account and still be mid-verification.
Assetera's KYC process is the system of record for your verification result. The rest of the platform reads that status; it doesn't re-decide it.
KYC gates trading
This is the key consequence: you cannot trade, make offers, or set up a wallet until your KYC is complete. Each of those actions is compliance-gated. Once you're verified, wallet setup and then trading open up.
Verification can be reviewed or refreshed over time. If Assetera needs current information, the app tells you what to provide and which capabilities are affected while the update is open.
Accounts & sign-in
Create an Assetera account and sign in securely: with email + password, one-time passcode / 2FA, passkeys, and social sign-in where available.
Wallets
Choose between the built-in Assetera wallet and connecting your own external wallet, add a wallet by confirming ownership, and clear compliance screening before you can trade.
